It's tied up, 12-12, your teammates are dead and with a little work, you've fragged 4/5 members of the other team. 1 to go. Off to your right, you hear a footstep; you snap the mouse to the right across your mousepad, prepped to shoot and win, and... your mouse hits the floor. Game over. Mouse pads and their construction is important to computer users, whether for games or for design purposes, mousepads have two huge factors: size and surface. Func Industries has released a new line of cloth mousepads, the C-series. How do they hold up? How are they against acrylic pads? Does their Dye Sublimation process really work better than normal dying techniques? We shall see.

Let's start with some specifications about the C-Series XL pad we're reviewing (Func-Pads.com):
This is not your typical cloth pad!
It is printed with the latest state of the art Dye-Sublimation process, where the dye sinks into the cloth, instead of hardening on top, thereby creating an unbelievably smooth surface, and excellent mousing traction.
It is available in several "distressed" graphic designs, and is bendable and totally portable.
Also, it comes in high-gloss, 4-colour tube packaging, making it the perfect gift for your best gamer friend!
Extra Large: 17 3/4" x 15" (450mm x 380mm)

The cloth pad came in a canister for protection, which worked. The pad however, wasn't warped to the shape of the canister. After flattening it out you get an appreciation for how big the pad really is. It covers an area equal to roughly a fourth of a standard desk.

We set everything up, battened down the hatches, and were ready for some good ol' fashioned gaming. We did like the fact that our keyboard could edge on top of the mousepad if needed, since the pad isn't excessively thick. Also, the no-slip backing does it's job well, staying right where we put it, never slipping but, moving easily when we wanted to turn it.

After using it for a few days, the pad is still holding up well and doing it's job. The dye process is better than traditional methods of painting as the pad still feels extremely smooth and there are no noticeable bumps or rough areas. We like how the pad looks, it's simple and rugged. The edges around the pad seem a little frayed.

The bottom line is that if you need a large mousing surface and prefer a cloth pad, the C-Series from Func would be a great choice for you, no matter the field of work—from games to game design. Func has released another strong mouse pad product and we're look forward to seeing what they have in store for us down the road.
Thanks goes to Func Industries for making this review possible.
